Follow Me!

I ran across this quote the other day. It is from a fellow named Leonard Sweet. I think it helps us understand the uniqueness of Christianity. In the kingdom of God righteousness is not a set of rules, a philosophy, or a set of beliefs. It is a Person. The Person of Jesus Christ. Having Him and that alone makes us right with God and with one another.

“What to learn how to live?” ask New Agers. “Follow your bliss.”

“What to learn how to live?” asks Buddha. “Follow mindfulness.”

“What to learn how to live?” asks Prophet Muhammad. “Pray five times a day and follow the Qur’an.”

“What to learn how to live?” asks Moses. “Follow the Torah.”

“What to learn how to live?” asks Chief Seattle. “Follow Nature.”

“What to learn how to live?” asks Aristotle. “Follow my teachings.”

“What to learn how to live?” asks Confucius. “Follow my koans.”

“What to learn how to live?” asks Jesus. “Follow me.”
