A Night to Remember
Here is a poem written by our music minister at Thorncrown Chapel, Patricia Taylor.
T’was the night before Christmas
When all through the night
The angels sang glory
While a star shone so bright.A baby is lying in a manger so low,
Wrapped in swaddling clothes to
Keep Him warm from the night’s
Bitter cold. His father named Joseph, His mother named Mary
Had come to Bethlehem to look for an inn
In which they might tarry. But, sadly there was none in which they might stay.
So the inn keeper brought them to a stable filled with hay.On the hills outside the city that night,
Shepherds watching their flocks began to tremble with fright.
For lo, the sky was filled with a sound that shook
The earth and the heavens all around.Glory to God, peace on earth.
Praise to the Father who gives us His word.
His word is His Son, a prince, a king is He.
Born to save us from our sins for all eternity. So, lift your voices, give praise on high, to the Christ Child
Who came to be born, so that He could die.
But, death has no victory, our story does not end.
For our Lord is alive, waiting to bring His church to Him.Thank you father, Thank you for your gift of love.
Sent as a child, born from above.
We give you our hearts in gratitude and praise.
For we will worship and adore you all of our days.By Patricia Taylor, all rights reserved.
